I hope you paid Erica with a Latte or a cheeseburger or something for digging your car out… and then you can come here and dig mine out.

The Toys “R” Us in Medford, OR makes me feel like I need a shower after I go in. The Toys “R” Us in Williston, VT is WAY better.
I think it’s also the fact that it’s putting something out there that you have put so much time and energy into, that you have crafted and worked so hard on, that it’s scary to think people might not like it and be dismissive of it without even looking at it; or it just gets ignored completely.
It’s hard for people to put themselves out there, but as long as you have that group of friends/fans, even if it’s a small one, it does make it all worth while.
*hugs*

Toys R Us has become a strange strange place in my lifetime.
As for me, it certainly makes things much easier knowing that their are people out there that have your back. I don’t feel so alone

It always seems so wrong seeing someone who has so much talent and potential to reveal their weaknesses. I’m pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say, HELL YEAH – we can’t wait to see you on hit the shelves along with the best (and not so best, yet very well advertised) films!
And I’m glad to see I’m not the only guy who still thinks action figures can be cool sometimes. That is… when you have money and/or they’re not $50. Damned Mattel :p

Thanks as always Joe. Just being as real as I can about the process. For those that want to walk it after me – I want them to understand a lot of what goes on mentally to do it.

You will overcome Jes! And it will be awesome! (I like your baseball cap. The brim has a really nice curve. <3) Excellent thoughts about the stress brought about by the outburst of creativity, I know what you mean.

Thx Lui. I got that awesome cap for 1.99! Stress is tied to so many things. It’s an odd human condition that we must all suffer thru. But it makes coffee that much better!

Always love the excursion episodes. Thanks for another great one. Don’t get to stressed out and know that there are people out there who will always love your work.

Glad to see a Toys R Us with people in it… or toys for that matter.
Every one I’ve been to in the past ten years has been sad and depressing.

I agree the fear you speak of is the same all artists share about creating and the creation itself. Along the same lines of self critism. Artists are their own worst critics. Just keep on as you do bro.

You are 100 percent right. I am very tough on myself and expect a lot. Most of my pressure comes from me, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s great to have you around Steve. Say hi to your pop for me.

Whenever you create something (whether you make a journal like this, or film a movie, or write a story, or, I don’t know, build something with Legos or whatever) and it really comes from deep down in your soul, you lay that piece of you bare for the world to see. In our daily life, we are not frequently asked to lay pieces of our souls out for judgment and examination. When we do (as all true creators must) it’s damn unsettling. If someone tells you this expression of your self is no good, what does that say about you? It’s damn unsettling.

Agreed 100 percent. It makes me feel very destabilized, but I do it knowing that it helps others to see that they are not alone in what they feel. There is something universal about feeling spent on so many levels and sharing I think gives us all strength. That or I need some serious medication

I will be first in line at my Best Buy once you get your DVDs out. Then I will tie every one of my friends up and force them to watch with me.

Ah, nothing like goofing off at a toy store to rebuild the confidence.

I totally agree man. It’s so much better to shut up and just do it. Keep those insecurities in check by making them shut up and just do it. It ain’t easy but it’s nicer when you do. You know?
